About Us

Linux Freedom started with the intention of offering a free
service where Linux could be promoted to a high degree.

My name is Jonathan and I started using Linux in 2001. Unlike most Linux users I didn't learn how everything in the back end worked. I just wanted an operating system that I could use without the worry of viruses, spyware, trojans and so on. Since that time I've been connected to the Internet 24 hours a day and I haven't had one single issue with any of these problems. I don't run any anti-virus software, in fact I haven't even had a firewall on my machines and still no problems.

In 2007 I started a business migrating the home user from Windows to Linux. The amount home users that are sick and tired of the problems that Windows presents is extremely high. It's very true to say that the general home user has not heard of Linux. Most don't even know that there are any alternative other than Windows or Mac.

I've had users of all ages as clients and they are all very happy with their new Linux operating system. Whilst I thought it may be harder for some of the older generation to pick up Linux after using Windows for a while, some of their comments have surprised me. A percentage of them have liked Linux over Windows because they found it easier to use and less cluttered.

Linux Freedom started in February 2008. Just one year on we see up to 5,000 visitors per day. We don't charge for our services but we do get a little back from the Google ads.

Linux Freedom is very fortunate to have lunarpages.com supply us with a dedicated server absolutely free. Their support has been more then we could ever have hoped for and look forward to working with them into the future.
